Hilary Woods’ “beguiling song- craft” (Hotpress) is one suffused with hushed vocals, mood driven melodies and intimate atmospherics. The former JJ72 bassist writes detuned dream folk-pop steeped in luscious sounds over compellingly simple beats. The follow up to her critically acclaimed debut solo project “The River Cry” (“ A revelation in terms of the depth of songwriting”- The Sunday Times) is her eagerly awaited E.P “Night”, due for release the 18th September 2014. Following the launch of her new record at this year’s Dublin Fringe Festival, Woods is playing some select solo shows in Berlin. Influences include Frida Kahlo, The Doors, Francois Hardy, William Faulkner, Etta James, Nick Drake, Daphne du Maurier, Chris Marker, Jon Hopkins.
