Jose Luis Fraga & Alex R-Lázaro // Clarinet, Drums and Electronics

Neuroplastic live concert beetwen drums, objects, clarinet and electronics. Jose Luis Fraga & Alex r-Lázaro assume as data the visual, the sound, the corporal and the performative elements, generating through collective interaction a continuous process of learning.

José Luis Fraga (A Coruña, 1988), artist interested in multidisciplinary creation. His academic training in Jazz and Classics begins at COSMAC in A Coruña, after passing through C.Martini in Bologna (Italy) and recently a grant of artistic research in the Master of the CSKG in Madrid, culminated with his recent methodological work on multitrack electronics in Steve Reich.

In 2019, he will take part of the MAAJAM International Art Residency in Estonia, and the International Residency Konvent (Barcelona). In 2018 he receives various grants and awards, such as PANC (AMEE, Society of Electroacoustic Music of Spain) tutored by Susan Campos Fonseca (Historical Music Archive of Costa Rica), Injuve National Prize of Creation with a tour in Central America or Buzz Meets Biz from the Goethe Institute of Ghana and Alliance Française.

Since 2016 he is the artistic director of the „Open Code“ collective of transdisciplinary improvisation. Selected by the Art n Ground residence, it premiered at the Puertas de Castilla sound art center in Murcia. In their meetings, they have received artists from Mexico, Japan and Spain.

During these last years, he has premiered and presented projects in MEAM (European Museum of Modern Art of Barcelona), Hybrid Art & Fair or Fábrica de arte Cubano in La Habana. and participated in media such as RNE, Radio Clásica, Radio 5 or Radio 3.

Alex R-Lázaro (A Coruña, 1992) is a drummer, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter based in Berlín. He started played piano at the age of five and studied classical percussion before he decided to go fully with the drums.

His project HILDA T is his most recent one, blurring lines between pop and experimental music. Graduated in jazz performance and also part of João Mortágua’s ‘’AXES’’ and ‘‘Quinteto Eduardo Cardinho’’, as well as drumming in several free-noise improvisation ensembles and performance involving sound installation and theater. In 2019, he will take part of the MAAJAM International Art Residency in Estonia.
