Leftover Sewing
Its our 4th open workshop day of LEFTOVER SEWING! We’ve collected more bits n bobs this month to add to the pool of scrap and materials.
Same rules as always: there are none!
We supply the sewing machines, tools, scraps, vibes and you bring yourself and maybe a piece of clothing with a hole in it. Or maybe you found a boring jumper and want to make it funkier?
Or maybe you don’t know what to do with all your leftover fabric? Do you work with fashion and clothing, come hang out! You never touched a sewing machine, we will teach you!
We invite one and all to create, chill and learn with us on the 2nd!
We are facilitating a space for people to share knowledge and tips about sewing, fashion, textile and learn from each other. There is no fixed schedule, you just come when you like and jump on a machine, when it’s free.
Let’s upcycle together and talk about sustainabilty in the fashion industry: using leftovers to create a new narrative.
We’ll be in studio-mode the whole afternoon: sewing machines, scissors, leftover fabric, old cloth, and new perspectives on fashion.
Bring your own projects, questions and ideas. This moment is also about meeting and giving birth to new creative collaborations.
The workshop will be happening the whole afternoon. Feel free to come and go. We invite you to bring your own fabric, clothing and sewing materials.
Using a donation basis allows us to be as accessible and inclusive as possible for everyone to discover and enjoy the power of creation. Also, we want you to be aware of the time, energy and material that organising such projects involve. By supporting this project, you participate in keeping Berlin a niche of supportive and welcoming artists and creators.
